Ovechkin, Semin, Green versus Thomas and the Bruins defense - is how i would describe tonights main match-up between the Eastern Conference rivals.
The Capitals meet Bruins for the 3rd time this season, both previous games were won by the Bruins (4-1@BOS, 3-1@WSH), and both times Thomas was in the net.
Bruins have won their last 3 games, while Capitals pulled a second win two nights ago in Toronto wining the Maple Leafs in a shoot out.
Players to look out for:
Bruins: HOT! Thomas is the man to watch with a perfect 7-0-0 record and unreal stats of 0.72 goals against average and 0.977 save %. Also Lucic, Bergeron and Krejci are on a 3 game point streak.
Capitals: Ovechkin, Semin and Green lead the Capitals offense (and defense in Greens case) with 16 (7+9) combined points in the last 3 games and no doubt they will be looking to add some tonight.
If anyone can stop Thomas's streak than Capitals are the ones, with home ice tonight and the 3 leaders having momentum, maybe this time they can crack the Bruins
